It’s here! It’s here! Today is officially Launch Day for my new web home. See all this amazing work? The design is thanks to Dani Kelley, whose hand-lettering prompted me to hire her to make my site look all beautiful. If you like what she’s done for me, please go show her some love by checking out her site. (She’s still tweaking a few things, but you can easily see what she does.) She spent countless hours creating this and messaging mostly with my wonderful husband to make all this happen.
On to my ROW80 goals:
- Write 1 hour/day on Passing on Faith: √ I’m so close. I hope to be done with the draft by the end of the month.
- Read 30 minutes/day: √ Three more books done and reviewed. Chugging along!
- Write one blog post/week that’s not ROW80/WIPpet: Not yet. This week’s will be out on Friday with a cover reveal for Elaine Jeremiah.
Now for my WIPpet. This week is a continuation of last week’s. I hope this is the catalyst to improving the opinion some of you (you know who you are) have about Cat. My math is 8 + 6 + 2 + 1 + 4 = 21 + 4 bonus (because it’s Launch Day!) = 25 sentences.
He shook his head, his lips curving into a small smile despite himself. “Come on in,” he said. “You’re just in time for me to whine about this crappy house.”
Cat snickered. “None of that,” he said. “I have some good news.” He picked his way around the bits of broken glass and pottery to step into the living room.
“Oh?” Micah raised his eyebrows and followed him into the room.
“Yup. I made a few calls for you. There’s a good roofer in town—even I can see you need a new one—and we can get Debbie to spruce up your yard. She’s expecting you, so don’t keep her waiting. I also put in a call to an exterminator. I’ve got the names of a few more people depending on what else you need. If you want, I can have a look around in here and see what I can fix.”
Micah was taken aback. “You fix stuff?”
Cat rolled his shoulders and flicked his hair out of his eyes. “Yeah. It’s what I do. Mostly electrical, but I’m handy with other minor repairs.” He gave Micah a pointed look. “Why does that surprise you?” He sat down on the edge of the chair.
Taking in Cat’s immaculate, colorful clothes, his posture on the chair, and his delicate, refined features, Micah pressed his lips together for a moment before answering, “No reason.”
K. L. Schwengel hosts our weekly play dates. If you want to join in, share a bit of your writing (math-adjusted to fit the date) and post it here. Don’t forget to read the other entries and leave some love. Happy writing!
