I know I’ve been neglecting my blog for the last week. Between the holidays and our family vacation, as well as the events of the past week, I haven’t been able to post. Here is my last (*sniff*) post of 2012. As such, I’m taking a look back on what I’ve discovered in the last year. Here’s the best of what’s been out there in 2012:
1. Best blogs on feminism
If you are interested in feminism, faith, and intersectionality, then you need to check out some of the best blogs on the topics.
2. Best blogs on LGBT & faith issues
I am a huge advocate for hearing things in people’s own words. Here are some of my favorite bloggers who happen to be both queer and people of faith.
- My Silent Half
- Registered Runaway
- Brian Cubbage
- Anarchist Reverend
- Travis Mamone
- Skipping to the Piccolo

5. Good to know
So there’s all this (mis)information out there about sex. And then there’s:
- Laci Green (warning: NSFW. Duh.)
6. Hottest topics
Same-sex marriage? Gun control? Rape? Women’s health care? Yup. Been a heck of a year.
On the Great Chicken War of ’12:
On “legitimate” and other kinds of rape:
On the mass violence in December and where we go from here:
On claiming to be someone’s mother:
On protecting women’s reproductive rights:
7. Best books
I promise that I did actually read more than two books this year. But the two that I believe you all should read are:
And congratulations to Fifty Shades of Grey for being the one book I recommend you stay far, far away from.
Stay tuned, I am going to be reviewing two more books right away after the new year starts!
8. Other activism
Why, yes, I do know the owner of this web site personally. Couldn’t be prouder.
And here’s one on fat activism:
9. People of faith worth reading
You’ve already seen most of the ones I like best in the sections on Feminism and LGBT above. Here are a few more. Again, I know some of these people offline as well, and I think you should check them out.

That’s it for 2012, folks. I hope you all have the chance to ring in the New Year with people you love. Stay safe, and I’ll meet you back here in 2013!

Thanks for including me on your list! You watch Laci Green, too? Cool!
Amy
Yes! I love her. She has some great vids that I plan to use if my daughter is still homeschooled in a few years. Heck, might use them anyway. She sure beats the education I got in school.
And yes, of course I included you. 🙂
