Guess what?
It’s just over 6 weeks until my book is released!
So today, in addition to all my updates and my WIPpet, I’m asking you all for help.
I’m putting together a launch team for my book. What I need are people who are willing to do one or more of the following:
- Join the Launch Team on Facebook (closed group)
- Read and review the advance copy of my novel (at least on the seller sites and Goodreads, but also on your blog if you have one) by October 31
- Participate in the cover reveal (September 29)
- Tweet, Facebook, or blog the links to purchase the book
- Post an author interview
- Allow me to guest post on your blog
You don’t have to do all of those. You can choose how much or little you do. In return, I’d like to spotlight YOU! All during October, I’m featuring guest posts, books, and promotion for my fellow writers/bloggers/authors. You can write a post, give me your book info, whatever. All you need to do is comment here, email me, tweet at me, or find me on Facebook. If you want to join the FB group, go here and ask to join.
On to updates!
Home stretch!
- Write 1hr/day in Passing on Faith: √ Now in revisions, so not anymore. But I’m continuing to write for an hour a day.
- Read 30min/day: √ Yep. I think I wrote 3 book reviews last week.
- Write 1 blog post/week other than ROW80/WIPpet: √ Not yet this week. Not sure I’ll get to it. I’m busy with getting ready for the book launch month.
WIPpet:
Last week, I introduced you all to Rachel. Now I get to give you a bit more. But I can’t tell you the full reason she’s called Micah because…well, spoilers. I’m hoping to get a new WIP underway, since this one’s already in revisions. My math: 9 +17 = 26 + the 1 (from 2014) = 27 sentences.
“Are you still there?” Rachel asked, her voice hesitant.
“Yeah. Sorry. You just took me by surprise.” Micah crossed the room to sit down.
“I’m sorry to disturb you. I hope you aren’t busy.”
“No,” he assured her. “I’m down at the lake house, actually. Just finished working on it for the day.”
“Good. That’s more or less why I wanted to talk to you.”
“About the lake house?” Micah was a little confused.
“Yes and no. More about your brother, actually.”
Micah didn’t even have to ask which one. “What did Elijah do this time?”
Rachel laughed softly. “Where to begin? Your brother has been doing things for years, playing around with the church’s finances, and now that your father’s gone, it’s time to do something about it.”
“So, why are you calling me? I don’t understand.”
Rachel was quiet for a moment. “I need your help, Micah. I can’t do this alone. You and I both know what Elijah’s like, and you’re the only one who will believe what I have to tell you about where the money is coming from and how he’s using it.”
I’m leaving it there. She doesn’t tell him in this scene anyway, and to tell you more would mean fewer surprises.

Well, since you asked….I’m on board for the cover reveal, an author interview and a guest post. Just let me know what dates you want. And since you offered….I have the releases on October 1, so whatever you’d like to do, I’ll take!
AM Leibowitz
Awesome! I’ll add you to the group too, but how about October 6 for your guest post on my blog? Something about your two books, maybe? Let me know.
Cover reveal is September 29 (because it’s my birthday). I’m planning everything else for October. So far, besides 2 scheduled posts on my blog, I’m doing a guest post on October 15. So I’m wide open. 🙂
Sirena Robinson
October 6th should be fine, and the books haven’t changed since you read them, so you don’t need an e-copy unless you want one. Do you just want to swap guest posts that day to keep it simple? And then I can do the interview later in the month?
AM Leibowitz
Sounds perfect. I’ll post reviews on release day, then trade guest posts on the 6th. Any special topic you want? I’m doing one for another blogger on finding a publisher, so maybe something different.
You can write yours on pretty much anything, as long as you include links or whatever you want to promote your work.

Oooh an intriguing excerpt! I wonder what naughty Elijah’s been up to? BTW are all the brothers named after prophets? I can’t remember from previous excerpts. Maybe that’s a daft question, just wondered. 🙂
AM Leibowitz
Yes, they all are. Jeremiah ‘s the oldest, then Elijah-the-creep, and Micah’s the “baby.” Elijah’s pretty much *always* up to no good but hides it in pretending to be super religious. He’s an unholy terror.
Shan Jeniah Burton
Jeremiah’s my oldest. My Elijah – well, he certainly was not a creep. He wasn’t alive long enough to be.
We didn’t set out to give our boys prophet names. Our Jeremiah is more Three Dog Night than biblical, and Elijah fit well.
The fact that I wanted to name Annalise Josiah had she been male…well, OK, I LIKE Old Testament boy names! They’re often a bit unusual, but not get-a-guy-beaten-up unusual…
I may have a bit of trouble separating your characters from my sons, but that’s my deal…
I’m wondering what’s up with this Elijah fellow…and I miss Cat!
I would be happy to host you as a guest poster on my blog, and participate in your cover reveal…if you would like to write about a social topic, I would love that, because you shine in that arena! =D
AM Leibowitz
I love Old Testament names. We happened to pick somewhat common names for our kids, but they were named for family. Jack is named for my husband’s grandfather and Sarah is named for my grandmother. It’s customary in Jewish families to name for the dead, so we chose to honor my father’s family tradition.
Don’t worry–Cat will be back in October. He still has a few surprises left. 😉
Just message me with your email and I’ll add it to the list to mail out the cover reveal document. 🙂 I’ll be happy to guest post. Any weekday except Oct. 6, 15, 20, 22, or 29 is good. And I’ll be happy to cover a social topic. 🙂
If you’re free, want to exchange? I’d love your thoughts on your writing process or how you got started. If not, no worries.
Elaine Jeremiah
I completely forgot to say that I’m happy to help out with your cover reveal Amy!
AM Leibowitz
No problem. LOL! And thank you. 🙂
Elaine Jeremiah
No worries! 😀

What did Elijah do this time … o my.
How exciting you’re almost to release!! I could do a cover reveal!
AM Leibowitz
Excellent! Thanks! 🙂 I’m getting stuff ready for that and will send it out in a few days.
A.C. Nixon
I’ll be more than happy to post about your book on my Facebook page, feel free to friend me.
Congrats on the new release.
AM Leibowitz
Awesome! I sent a friend request. I use my legal name on FB (Amy Mitchell). 🙂
ReGi McClain
Wow. That went a lot better than I anticipated, actually, given how nasty family stuff can get after a death. Sooo, Micah’s the rejected son, but Elijah is the one who’s been embezzling church funds. And, I take it, he’s the nice-guy-around-town-jerk-at-home type. I smell conflict. 😀
AM Leibowitz
Rachel is…interesting. She hasn’t had it much better than Micah in this whole mess. She needs help, and she’s turning to the one person who might believe her, whether he really can help or not.
Melissa Barker-Simpson
Oh, what a way to end it! I want more 🙂 I enjoyed it very much – these characters just come alive – I could see them quite vividly.
With reference to helping out for your launch. I can do a cover reveal, tweet/blog etc. Author interview and Guest Blog. I was going to volunteer for the facebook group too, but I don’t use facebook very often and am not entirely sure how the group thing works!
AM Leibowitz
Heh, no worries about the FB group. I totally understand that.
Just shoot me an email so I can send you the cover reveal document (you can use the contact form or just email me at amyunchained@gmail.com)
What dates are good for you? I’m planning for weekdays in October. Did you want to write a guest post for me, or did you want me to write one for you? I’m doing author spotlights Mondays & Fridays, wide open after Oct 10. I’m fee to guest post or do author interview any day except 10/6, 15, 20, 22, & 29. Any particular topic you’re interested in?
Fallon
oh, now I want to know what Elijah is up to.
I’d love to help out with the cover reveal
AM Leibowitz
Wonderful! Just email me at amyunchained@gmail.com so I have your email address and can send you the stuff. Cover reveal is Sept 29.
Ruth Nestvold
This is great, Amy, we can trade some promotion! I had just decided that Facets of Glass was finally going well enough now that I can set a date for publishing Island of Glass. I’ve decided on Oct. 20, so for me it would be best if we could trade interviews or guest posts before that. If you want to do a guest post, I’d prefer something having to do with self-publishing, given the main thrust of my blog. If you prefer an interview, I’ll put some questions together for you in the next couple of days.
The excerpt is great, btw, very intriguing. Got a bit distracted from it by your request. 🙂
AM Leibowitz
Since I didn’t self-pub, I know very little about the process. But I could absolutely do the author interview thing. Is Oct. 7 or 14 ok? In return, if you want to write something for me about self-publishing, that would be fantastic. My email is amyunchained@gmail.com and you can send me a message about how you want to do this. 🙂
Ruth Nestvold
Ah, I somehow missed that you are going the traditional publishing route. Been there, done that, don’t want to return. 🙂 Since my blog is “Indie Adventures” maybe instead we can just trade cover reveals. I hope you’re not offended! I want to keep the focus of my blog on indie publishing. It’s not a value judgement at all, not like some indie proponents out there. But I don’t want to diverge too much from the focus of my blog, you know?
AM Leibowitz
No worries–I’m not at all offended. Cover reveal is Sept. 29.
I understand not wanting to do traditional publishing. I settled on a compromise of sorts–a small, independent publisher. I found it has the perks of both types. One thing that appeals to me is that there are a small-ish number of us with the same publisher, so it means we’ve gotten to know each other. It feels more personal than a big company, but I get some benefits I wouldn’t otherwise have had.
K. L. Schwengel
Brothers can be so…hmm…makes me wonder what dear Elijah is up to. Nice set-up.
I’d love to have you guest blog. I’m coming into a stretch where I’ll be gone/preoccupied until the second week of November so I can’t commit to much else. I can join in on the cover reveal if you don’t mind it popping up later in the day. Monday’s are Fall Into Fantasy right now but I can double up my posts. Just let me know!
AM Leibowitz
Awesome! I’m not sure I have your email, so feel free to send me a message (my email is somewhere up thread, but I’ll put it here: amyunchained@gmail.com ). I can do a guest post pretty much whenever except Mondays and Wednesdays).
Emily Witt
Sounds like Elijah’s been up to some pretty troubling sneakiness!
Very happy to participate in a cover reveal! My email address is fuzzyagent999[@]yahoo[dot]com[dot]au. I’d offer to review the arc, too, but I’m really bad with deadlines for that sort of thing. I will certainly review it when I read it, though! 😀
AM Leibowitz
Yeah, Elijah’s not nice.
Sweet! I’ll send you the stuff. 🙂
