Happy Saturday! Or it would be, if I could get rid of this darn cold. I was feeling better, but now this thing has settled in my chest and I’m back to feeling like crud. Hope it’s gone soon. Ah, well. It gives me an excuse to lie on the couch and read everyone’s snippets, right?
Keeping the Faith is in its last stages of editing before it goes to my publisher. It’s currently in the hands of my wonderful and highly capable beta readers. I’m still tidying up the last few chapters, but I’ll send them off this week. It’s bittersweet; I’ve been with these characters for almost three years now, and they’ve all assured me it’s all right to let them go. Cat has promised to stick around, being bossy with me over my other projects, but he doesn’t want a starring role anymore. I think that’s fair.
Today’s snippet is one of my favorites. I don’t think there’s much context needed.
“Meow.”
“All right, already.”
Micah sat up more slowly, and the cat hopped off the bed. He stood there waiting until Micah was up and running a hand through his messy salt-and-pepper curls. The cat stalked out, sashaying his rump and swishing his tail.
“Drama queen,” Micah called after him before making the bed and following the cat out of the bedroom.

Hope you’re feeling better. Cats are the world’s most perfect drama queens. Loved this.
Heh, they really are! This one especially. 🙂
Nicely observed. Feel better soon!
Thanks! 🙂
Wow, I’ve met this cat! He’s a lot like a certain four legged striped lady I live with! 🙂
Hahaha! He’s very much like my own drama queen. 🙂
Drama comes so naturally to them…nicely done!
Haha! Yes, it definitely does.
Love the snippet!
No cat, but does a Boxer snorting in my fact because he has to go out count?
Yes! Dogs bring the drama too, LOL.
Haha, cats are so like that. My partner plus cat just moved in with me and yes, it’s a little furry drama queen.
Hope you soon feel better. I’m with you, sniffling and coughing 🙁
LOL, cats definitely bring the drama.
Boo for sniffling and coughing. 🙁
Sorry you’re not feeling well. I hope that improves, soon! Loved the snippet…LOL. 🙂
😀 Thanks!
Yes, that is certainly a cat. Drama much.
I hope you’re feeling better soon.
LOL, they are so dramatic. Especially when they want food.
My cats are all drama queens. You wouldn’t believe the posing that goes on…unless you have cats 😀
I have one cat, and she is very much a drama queen. The dog isn’t as much unless he thinks the cat is getting something he isn’t!
Another comment fail from me… I read these in my email and forget to come over and say ‘Yay! This is great!’ ConCATenation.
LOL, no worries. 🙂
Very nice snippet! Hope you’re feeling better!
