Happy Saturday! I haven’t done one of these in about 3 months. Let me tell you, it’s been a wild ride during that time. I’ve been dealing with some serious health issues, and we’re still in process of figuring out what’s wrong with me. Short version: I’ve been misdiagnosed multiple times in the last 5 years. I see a neurologist this week, so fingers crossed this points us in the direction of answers.
Anyway, I’m doing all right for now, and all the school year things that eat my spoons are done. So here I am, sharing some good news and a snippet.
I’m super excited that my next novel, Minuet, will be out September first—and I already have the ARCs! I’m going to be doing a tour and a giveaway, since this is the last book in my Notes from Boston series. These books have all been a love letter to my bisexual community and all the beautiful, wonderful ways there are to be bi.
And now the snippet. As we count down to launch, I’m going to snip from the previous books in the series, beginning with Anthem. This is the story of a bisexual church worship leader whose song about giving his boyfriend a blowie becomes an accidental Christian radio hit.
[Trevor] kept his gaze trained on the chord sheet in front of him, not daring to look Bret in the eye just in case. When he was through, he let the note fade away and closed his eyes. He didn’t want to see Bret’s reaction.
It took a moment, but Bret finally broke the silence. “Wonderful. I wouldn’t change a thing. When we have a thousand members all singing this together, they’ll all know who they’re singing it for.”
Trevor’s immediate reaction was, No, they won’t.

What a beautiful, magical, yet hilarious moment…it blows one’s mind to be punny. (Sorry, my husband is a really bad influence of me.) 🙂 I’m really sorry about all the health problems, being made all the worse by those who are supposed to be helping you with them. 🙁 Sending you healing thoughts, wishes, and hopes you’ll find the right people to help you with them…

Ha! I love puns. Puns are bi culture! 😀
You know, I won’t lie, the health stuff has been awful. This last year was bad. But having my doctor in my corner has been such a relief. So even if the others can’t help, he *can* and has. It’s just taking forever! LOL. And thank you for the good thoughts. 🙂

Fingers crossed they’ll find what’s wrong and a way to fix it. And congrats on the new book!
I love this snip, especially the last line. I’m sure he’s glad he didn’t say that out loud. 😉

Thank you on all counts!
Yep, Trevor is very happy he didn’t let that one slip! Or he is for now. Not so sure once that song gets around, LOL.
