Happy Saturday! A couple of fun things:
First, July 1 was #IndiePrideDay, and in two weeks, it’s my city’s LGBTQ Pride. So all my self-pubbed titles are on sale this month for 99 cents. You can read about them and find links here: http://amleibowitz.com/2018/07/01/indie-pride-day
Second, I had the pleasure of curating and editing the upcoming anthology from Supposed Crimes, UPSTAGED! An anthology of women who love women in performing arts. These stories are absolutely amazing, and it was a pleasure working with these talented authors.

Third, it’s official! I have another story in a Beaten Track anthology. “Year of the Guilty Soul” will appear in Seasons of Love. This time, it’s YA with a bisexual genderqueer MC. I’ll update info when I have it, but for now, I’ll just offer a snippet.

It’s 1991, and the MC, Toni, is distracted during Sunday school.
Instead of the standard church uniform, Cari is in all black. The skirt of her scoop-neck velvet dress touches the floor, but I can see her Renaissance boots peeking out from underneath. Her choker is a black ribbon with a chain down the back and a heart-shaped pendant. She wears large, dangling stars in her ears that catch the light when she moves. She’s paler than I am, but her hair is darker. Where mine is a frizzy deep brown, she has thick, smooth hair that’s almost as black as her clothes. I’m in awe of the cranberry-colored lipstick she has on and the way she’s made her eyes pop with black liner and smoky shadow.
Rainbow Snippets is a safe and welcoming space for LGBTQIA+ authors, readers, and bloggers to share 6 sentences each week from a work of fiction—published or in-progress—or a book recommendation. Feel free to join in!

I think I dated that girl! 🙂 lovely snippet and congratulations!
I wish I had 😀
This was the girl I wish I’d dated. I sometimes wonder where she is now.
I loved this story, so sweet and gentle yet full, if that makes sense. I love all the characters but I have a special squidgy place in my heart for Cari
Aw, thanks! I have a special squidgy place for her too. 🙂
Oh, such an intimate moment of one person’s unique snapshot moment of someone special…beautiful!
Thank you! 🙂
Beautiful description! <3
Thanks! 🙂
What a yummy description. Well done. Thank you for sharing. And Happy Writing!
Thank you! 🙂
Very nice description, I wish I’d dressed like that girl. lol
Heh, I never wanted to dress like that, but I did admire girls like her.
Lovely description. It’s so great that we’re anthology mates. I’m so excited to be in such fantastic company.
Me too! I’ve read most of the stories now, and they are all so good.
*sigh* There was nobody that cool in my Sunday School! 😉
Not mine either, LOL. The girl she’s modeled on was someone I knew at school, not at church. It certainly would’ve made Sundays more interesting if she’d showed up there! 🙂
(rubs her hands greedily) I’m excited about your upcoming releases! And I love the description here. I’d have mooned over that girl.
I did sort of moon over a girl like her, only I convinced myself I was just sort of in awe of her ability to be herself. LOL…I just remembered that the boy who liked me introduced us. Pretty sure that’s not why!
Love the description of her
Definitely not normal Sunday School attire! Great description although I had to read it twice because somehow I read Renaissance boobs instead of boots.
Love the description!
Awesome description, I could see her perfectly.
